Project Description

This residence was constructed on a large multi-acre lot adjacent to farmland. The new landscape construction required a carefully conceived master plan which was implemented by Doug Curtiss Landscaping. The active family required a setting for extensive outdoor living to include dining, daytime and evening entertainment, relaxation, and swimming. The large property also includes large swaths of lawn, an orchard, and multiple gardens including a formal Rose garden. The landscape is accented with detailed plantings and water features throughout the property.

Our team was involved from the early stages of design concept and project planning. The scope of work began with site preparation and grading. Natural stone walls were installed to create tiered patio spaces, each with a unique purpose. Boston city hall pavers were used throughout the pool area, front entry, and patio surfaces to maintain a New England theme. Our team was given creative license with the installation of the main water feature which consists of a pond area leading from the main patio down to the pool area where a waterfall opens into a second pond. Our initial work was completed with the installation of extensive plantings, four acres of lawn, and irrigation throughout the property.

Today we continue to work with the homeowner, and provide complete landscape maintenance of the estate. The property demands careful attention from our team as the plantings mature and require aesthetic and structural pruning. Every year, as each season progresses, we prepare the plantings and lawn areas, as well as accent the focal points with annual plantings.
